On my way back to Manila: alone in Kalibo

I was on my way to Manila. I arrived at Kalibo Airport at around 8:30 in the morning. My flight was at 1:00 in the afternoon. Damn Zest Air. How dare you damaging Caticlan Airport. Waking me up at around 4, travelling for around 2 hours just to be sure not to miss my flight. Haay.. Well, anyway, moving on, I arrived at the airport with a “close” sign (Damn you ZestAir). So I decided to embark on a tour around the town of Kalibo, alone. I made “para” a tricycle (Jeep is not “uso” here) and told the driver to drop me off at Jollibee. I was 80% sure Kalibo has a Jollibee and fortunately, there I saw the big smile of the big happy BEE! I just got a hundred and fifty pesos in my pocket. ATM hunting later after Jollibee. I ordered the Longanisa meal and I love its crispy crust. It resembled a longadog and I lovet! While eating, and since I was alone, I did my favorite past time – muni-muni.

“Well, I know, I don’t have the right to be inis or asar but repeating the issue again and again makes it annoying and it really hurts, I’m telling you, it hurts. Yeah, I know. I’m guilty so I will accept all your punishment with open arms. But please believe me, it is you that I love and I still want to be with you. I hope this event won’t create a “lamat” in our love to each other. I wish that someday, this event will be buried and will be forgotten. I love you. I love you. I love you.”

“But then I checked your blog and saw your ex with you in McDo. Damn I felt. Is this the way you want to punish me? To do what I did to you? To make me feel what you felt? Fine. As I’ve said, I’ll be accepting ALL your punishments until you are fulfilled. With open arms…”

After eating, I then searched for a nearby ATM for a petty cash. Priority ATM was BDO but the BDO machine was not working. So I looked for other functional machines. I found UCPB and Allied but all were offline. Then, at last I found BPI. AT first, I thought it was a lotto line. Haay..but I had no choice. So after around 20 minutes, I got my cash and mind you, I just seemed to receive a change from a tindera in a palengke. The bills were so bulok. Well, as I’ve told myself, I had no choice.

I walk again to a nearby park called Patrana Park. It is located in the middle of the town in front of a church. What caught my interest was that the park or plaza was soo clean and soo green. And again, I lovet! It has a statue of Rizal and Bonifacio and I do not know why. Hehehe. But I love the rows of benches along a concrete walkway amidst the green Bermuda grass. Being a true jologs, I took a picture of myself on one of the benches, and I lovet!

Now back to the airport where I still have to wait for around 2 hours for boarding. And I wrote this and then I’m done.

A lot of kids making tambay at Pastrana Park. They are probably from the nearby college.

I understand why most of the plazas are in front of an ancient church...

but why do most of the plazas have a statue of Jose Rizal?

or if not, a statue of his rival, Andres Bonifacio?

in the case of Pastrana Park, both..

but i love these benches. :)

Under my uhm-buh-rella

It was raining all week long. I like the rain when I’m home but it sucks when I have to go out of the house and it rains so much? No way. Anyway, I just stumble upon these umbrellas and so timely to blog about it because of this effin’ rain. :p

I always get my umbrella lost since I was a kid, so my mother usually gets a cheap one for me. Until now, I’m praning na makawala ako ng umbrella so I won’t buy a pricey umbrella for myself. I just want an umbrella that is handy and can be folded into a small piece so I can put it in my bag. I want an umbrella that, of course, can protect my whole body and my back pack from getting wet and can stand a moderate wind (hindi medaling bumaliktad) para hindi dyahe.

Anyway, the following umbrellas not only protect you from rain but also, complement your fashion.

The following are kiddie umbrellas, they are so cute as well.

The next are called senz umbrellas. The most special feature of this umbrella is that it is not inverted even at 70mph wind. Senz’s Philosophy in making its umbrellas are the 3S – Smart, strong and stylish.

Smart

Due to its aerodynamic design, the SENZ umbrella always finds the most comfortable position in the wind. That makes it exceptionally pleasant to use the SENZ, even in strong gales. The smart design prevents the umbrella from turning inside out and makes it windproof up to 70 MPH!

Strong

The SENZ Original has a smart patented construction. Ribs in the frame work together to absorb all forces on the umbrella, which makes the umbrella practically unbreakable. Despite the strong frame, it’s still one of the lightest umbrellas available.

Stylish

The SENZ Original is a winner of multiple design awards! Its smooth oval shaft matches seamlessly with the aerodynamic shape of the umbrella. This shape gives you a perfect sight with the best possible rain protection. Additionally, the ‘eye-savers’ protect your eyes, and also the eyes of your passers-by! The innovative opening mechanism of the umbrella has been uniquely integrated in the handle. The SENZ Original is not only very functional, but also a delight for your eyes!

And there you go, my Uhm-Buh-rella blog highlighting on the SENZ Umbrella having its most innovative and stylish design that I guess fits my criteria for the best umbrella – handy, not easily inverted and can protect myself anf my bag pack. If someone out there who’s generous enough to give me a SENZ Umbrella, you can visit their site here.

And speaking of Uhm-Buh-Rella, Marie Digby who’s known for her acoustic cover version of Rihanna’s “Umbrella”, will be at NBC Tent at The Fort this August 1, 2009. I’m planning to surprise toni by giving him tickets for the concert but its too pricey. Tickets are available at around 2,600 each. Let us see.

Below is Marie Digby's video of umbrella, with its more appropriate pronunciation. hehehe..

Creativity ETC.

What my boss used to do when she was still the boss of the team was to do some creativity-boosting activities every start of our team huddle. Three of the activities are the following:

It will take you a hard time to identify what the blocks for. But if you look from afar or you make a “Chinese” eye (sorry Chinese people, i don’t intend to discriminate or offend here), you can easily read the message.

How to do the “Chinese” Eyes: put your point fingers just beside your eyes. Be sure to touch the edge. Then, pull the skin backwards. That’s it!

This one is interesting too. When shown to an “innocent” child, he will see 9 dolphins instead of the intimate couple, just like what you first saw (aminin!). This is because children has no prior knowledge or memory associated with the intimate scenario.

Another activity was she will request us to read the following words loud and clear and as fast as we could. And after that, tell the font color as loud and clear and fast as earlier.

A lot of activities still but either I’ve already forgotten them or I was not able to find the images on net. And now, I'm missing a boss. :-s

Nauna silang sumakay saken.

When do you say na "kayo na"?

Cuplets of Frostings

It was the 24th birthday of Toni, my FB. Happy birthday love! The plan was when the clock strikes twelve I’ll give him 24 CUPLETS each with little faces of him (he loves himself so much...very narcissistic..tsk tsk tsk). This shall serve as his birthday cake from me. Anyway, Cuplets are little cupcakes by Frostings. I just discovered this when I passed by Trinoma one day and saw their cupcake displays beside a flower shop at Landmark supermarket. Well unfortunately, when I arrived at their stall at Trinoma, only 1 dozen is available. Then I found out, according to “ateh” and “koyah” there, they have branch at Rustans Shangri-la. Hoping they have more stocks there, I rushed to that department store but alas! Only 1 dozen is available, too. So, I had no choice, just one dozen, and each cuplet is equivalent to two years..Hehehe. But anyway, thanks to Frostings for at least fulfilling my plans partially, and also the two lovely ladies helped me deliver my “BLUE BOX” to Toni. Thanks thanks! In return, this blog also serves as an advertisement to them. And by the way, their cupcakes taste great. You got to try all their flavours. (Click the image to zoom)

PDA - how far is too far?

Couple must be sensitive enough when they plan to display publicly their act of affection to each other. Hindi pwede yung “ ano bang pakialam nila!” Remember that we are still a social being living and interacting with other humans in this society. We therefore should consider other people….always. And when I say we should be sensitive enough, that means to determine first to what extent (of PDA) the surrounding people would be comfortable with. If we think they can stand seeing two guys French kissing in front of them, then, do so. Usually, this audience is the younger generation who is more open-minded. But if they belong to an older age group like 40-50’s, let us be careful because they are the ones that can easily be offended by PDA (which can be rooted to the strictly conservative society before). If we can’t do this, makuntento sa hawak kamay lang. Okay? And we must understand also that Filipino’s are yet conservative in nature so most of the acts are limited to simply holding hands and if you are lucky, (cheek) kissing. To be safe, just do holding hands when in public and if we got the chance to be alone in our own room, then this is the time we can do whatever we want to do. Just always remember that there is always a right time and a right place for everything. Okay?
