August Summarized

Long time no blog folks. But don’t get me wrong. This no-blog moment doesn’t mean there’s nothing going on in my life. In fact lots of things (interesting things) happened to me these past few weeks.

1. First, I planned my gym routine to convert my bulging tummy to a hot 6-packer one. However, I was not able to implement it yet. Tomorrow, promise.

2. I also planned a date with Bechay (who's coming from Singapore next week). From Tagaytay (breakfast at Sonya’s, then zipline, lunch at Buon Giorno Cliffe House, walk at paradizoo, dinner at Greek Mano’s tavern) to Meralco Theater (watch NOAH by Trumpets and be Mr and Ms Hippo then eastwood party after).
3. Date with my best office buddy – Ian at John and Yoko. Charged to brand.
4. Got the chance to experience the sunset cruise in Manila Bay with Toni. Very beautiful and romantic!
The shore smells "malansa".

The sunset was awesome. The food was not.
The singer is so funny. I felt like i was in a bar. She can sing korean songs.

5. And saw the 2009 World Press Winners Exhibit at Mall of Asia.

These are some of my favorites:

6. At last, after months and months of waiting, watched Pixar’s UP with Tettet and Rona in 3D!
Pixar has not disappointed me. This is a great movie and everyone must watch it. The story is simple and not too complicated. The characters are not overwhelming cars, toys or fishes, they are simply humans (not heroes okay? they don't have powers and special abilities). But despite the simplicity, Pixar was able to create a film worth standing ovation. Lovet!

RUSSELL: Good afternoon. My name is Russell. And I am a wilderness explorer in tribe 54, Sweat lodge 12. Are you in need of any assistance today, sir?

CARL: No.

RUSSELL: I could help you cross the street

CARL: No.

RUSSELL: I can help you cross your yard.

CARL: No.

RUSSELL: I could help you cross your porch.

CARL: No.

RUSSELL: Well, I gotta help you cross something.

CARL: No, I'm doing fine.

RUSSELL: Good afternoon. My name is Russell. And I am a wilderness explorer in tribe 54. Sweat Lodge 12. Are you in need of any assistance today...(door slams).

7. Experienced Lalalaluz with Toni, Tina, Pau and Tina’s friends. First time to kayak (sorry for my bad mouth whenever the boat shakes), to snorkel and to panic because of sea urchins (hate them,, both when in their natural habitat and when in sushi).

Love the inuman at night (sigh we missed the bonfire and the s'mores) and the morning walk-slash-jog.
People there are so accommodating and hospitable. You can even make "utang" from the sari-sari store without having "listahan" nor asking your name.

8. Next stop: Tagaytay. Lunch at Josephine's, coffee at Bag of Beans and shop pasalubong at Good Shepherd and Rowena’s. What happened after this trip? Impatcho (indigestion).

9. Was rushed ‘er rather brought to the TMC ER because of unusual nausea-slash-vertigo-slash-whatever. It was a suspected Dengue case because of the low platelets and high lymphocytes but was soon ruled out. Thanks Lord. It was found out that it’s just an ordinary flu. Thanks to Medicard.

1. 10. Watched The Time Traveler’s Wife. Was crying although out the movie. The story was great, the script was neatly written and the entire movie was delicately made up to the smallest details. Bravo! By the way i love Eric Bana’s butt artistic exposure(s). :)

11. Watched Dinig Sana Kita for the second time with Toni, Tina and this time with Pau and Tina’s college friends - Tuesday and her Lone-haired-Boo.
And Saizen after.

…found these cute stuffs…

…and this boob enhancing balloons.

UGGs UGGs Beybeh!

From the time I saw Cameron Diaz wearing these winter boots, I can’t remove the thought of me having one of those fluffy and adorable boots (which I eventually discovered are called UGGs) for myself although I can’t pinpoint one instance here in the Philippines I can wear these shoes. But very timely, we are planning to go to China for a trip on November when China is experiencing its winter sonata. So I guess this is a sign, I shall buy my own UGGs and I lovet! My issue is it is so pricey! Around $200 each pair and duh?!

First, what are these UGG boots? According to Wikipedia, UGG boots (sometimes referred to as UGGs or UG boots) are a style of sheepskin boot, with wool as the inner lining and a tanned outer surface worn by both men and women. The natural insulative properties of sheepskin give thermostatic properties to the boots: the thick fleecy fibers on the inner part of the boots allow air to circulate and keep the feet at body temperature. This means that UGG boots can be worn without socks or tights (even in relatively cold weather).

So much for the Wikipedia infos and let us now go to its aesthetic purpose. I searched the net for UGG boots selections to choose from. Toni sent me this link (uggaustralia.com). This seems to be the most popular brand when it comes to this kind of footwear.

From this site, these are my picks:

I also saw these cutie from other random sites and I also want them. I love the concept of extending the UGGs equity to other format such as slippers and hmm..sneakers and boat shoes.

And being gaya-gaya, I will also dress up my UGGs like some celebs (whom I’m not familiar with):

1. Who is this guy? He’s as cute as his UGGs. Haha!

2. I like the grafitti effect of the design and its wittiness.

3. Girlie, but i like! Hehehe! It is soo earthy and natural.

4. Love its graffiti design and the patch at the back. very masculine yet creative.

5. This UGG reminds me of Mr Tumnus of The Cronicles of Narnia. He is a faun, yes a faun! A bit creepy (feeling ko may garapata!) but cool eh?

6. He gave his UGGs, together with coloring materials, to his 5-year old daughter and voila! His freedom UGGs.

I dont know but the UGGs just seems so similar to one of my favorite foot wear - Sanuk Sidewalk Surfer. But remember, they are not shoes, they ARE sandals.

Maybe that is why i am so obsessed with these UGGs. They are my new apples of my eyes. Can someone buy me UGGs for early Christmas Gift? Hi generous people!

Prevention is better than cure

Yesterday, while the “Cory” procession is on going and while Manila Bulletin thinks that the one inside the coffin is GMA,

I saw a post (a link) in facebook entitled “The Greatest Condom Commercial”. I was intrigued so I clicked the link and saw this video:

So whats the insight behind this commercial? Hmmm...Always have a condom inside your pocket... *wink*

and i always do. :) thanks for the FREE Frenzy Condoms inside some magazines. :)

Here are some other condom ads I saw while browsing Youtube.

A chocolate-flavored condom commercial...

...just don't forget to brush your teeth girls and boys and sheep...

a cute portrayal of how condoms work...

so cute..can i have the sperm costume?

and a Banned but cute ad..

babies are blessings... never think they are the fruits of your carelessness...

and a very creative and educational ad enumerating why do you have to use condoms...

Don't forget to check out the translations below:

a condom
spoils the moment
a condom
takes away the pleasure
a condom
is unconfortable
a condom
is hard to put on
a condom
reduces sensibility

Think twice
Go for adventure
Use a condom

...yeah...think twice before you get the deadly HIV...

and experience the discrimination by the society...

or worse...DIE...

Remember: prevention is almost always better than cure...
