Café Cõi Riêng

Exploring the coffee shops in HCM.
They are, according to Michael Porter, "fragmented" - many and different.

This is Café Cõi Riêng located in Tân Bình District.

Motiff: Zen

The entrance is this long passage with bamboo and motorcycle lining. :)

There's an outside area.

But we opt to sit inside.

Got this "Tea with salted plum"

Tea (Lipton)

and salted plum (the taste reminded me of this silly candy we called "ostya")

You have to mix them first.

Then pour in a taller and more sophisticated glass with ice and star stirrer.

Plus Bánh mì meal!

Elevator tip

John 9

So this is how Mike delivered the message.
Humorous. Funny.

But the message is clear.

Don't be the pharisees - who sought answers first to their questions before they believe.
Be like the blind man, who made the right choice, that is to obey Jesus, without any questions, doubts and interrogations.

"Go! Wash in the pool of Siloam"

We do not need to understand everything to believe on something.
We don't need to understand everything to trust Jesus.

TRUST that is based on one undeniable truth - that God has sent his only son to die on the cross for our salvation.

This Sunday, i realize that i have to focus.
FOCUS on the why i was sent here.

Tomorrow is another week. :)

Turn Around

Helmets ETC,

When i came back to Ho Chi Minh, saw these banners posted in every single inch of the city.

Wondering what are these all about.

Thought t'was an advocacy about fireman.

Such a bobo i was. hahaha!

Took me a week before i undertand the ad.
If not for my friend Trinh, i am still thinking this is a fireman ad.

The advocacy is by AIP, which stands for Asia Injury Prevention Foundation, a US registered non-profit organization that creates public-private partnership, develops mass media education and school curricula, and implement school-based helmet use and traffic safety education programs to reduce the pervasive and devastating rate of road traffic crash injuries and fatalities in developing countries. Whew! that is from their website.

This just reminds me of Toni's 100% guilt-free shopper advocacy.
an actress and a singer

an actor

a fashion designer

a goodwill ambassador

a singer

a host

And there are several more.
Ambassadors.
of wearing helmets. :)

and so i was inspired.
bought my own helmet.
simple but stylish
Haha!

That's all.
Bow.

Flight001

Malaysia - Cambodia Trip

Last week, I visited Malaysia.
In Selangor and Kelantan.

I attended the launch of a radio event.
This is Zenny Salihudin.

A giant Buddha in Kelantan.

From Malaysia, i went directly to Phnom Penh, Cambodia's capital city.

Malaysia's uber nice airport.

Watched 500 days of summer during the flight.

My plane lunch was a two-thumbs-up!

Coffee break at Gloria Jeans!

riding the tuktuk (their trike version)

and motorcycle with Mr O.

The independence monument.

Temple

Riverside. Doves are everywhere. Very cute!

The prime minister's office.

My dream! hahaha!

Deja brew - the feeling that you've had this coffee before..

I saw this man wearing this Pilipinas jacket.

They use the Sampaguita as air freshener. And it smells nice!

That's all!
And now, I'm back in Vietnam.
Rest day!
